The Stillness Between the Sets

The Stillness Between the Sets
I make my way past the set
my heart is beating fast and my breath is shallow
thankful for the practice of yoga that has taught me what I now know
i sit up on my board, close my eyes, take a slow deep breath in and a longer breath out
a simple reminder that this moment is one I cannot go without
i begin to drop into the beauty that surrounds
with the realization that nature’s love knows no bounds
the sun rays kiss my already warm-flushed face
while the cool, glassy water beneath me sways at its own gentle pace
like a dance, she moves me with her from side to side
i smile softly feeling her rising tide
my fingers graze her delicate surface
yet her depth is so vast and profound, it has me meditate on her whole meaning and purpose
then circulating through my whole Qi
runs a quote from Vedic literature when God says,
‘Of all the bodies of water, I am the Sea’
