Winter Dream
Submitted by Lorel
After winter, love, we’ll rise and greet the day --
We’ll pull up socks and put on boots
And see the work as play.
After winter, love, the ground will open wide –
Receive the plow, accept the seed,
It’s mystery still inside.
After winter, love, the birds will sing so free!
Their days intent with brood and nest –
Love’s choir for you and me.
After winter, love, the moon will bless our night.
We’ll lie and dream together
Worn out by sheer delight.
But now it’s winter, love.
I pray that when’s it’s through
I’ll find that we are young once more
And I’m again with you.
