Conversation as art
Submitted by Bumsita
One of my goals as a creative is to expand beyond the limits of traditional artistic mediums. I believe that the majority of art that exists in our world is created outside of studios, and I have a long-held fascination with storyteller archetypes. This submission is an experiment with one of our most abundant mediums—conversation.
We all have met people who we look forward to talking with, because the way they say things is so entertaining—or unique, or intelligent—that we are able to hop out of our own heads and in to theirs. Good conversation can be just as potent as poetry.
What I offer now is conversation as art. The contents of this recording were generated organically over ninety minutes and three plates of buttermilk waffles. Topics covered include 1930’s alternative medicine, targeted ads, and the joys of creativity. There was no cohesive goal of this conversation, and moreover, no central thread from which to offer you context. This is good, old-fashioned talking. I hope you enjoy it.
